🌿 Exciting Fashion Collaboration with WAWWA Clothing! 🌿
In 2023, students embarked on an inspiring fashion design project in collaboration with Manchester’s very own sustainable fashion brand, WAWWA Clothing. Known for their commitment to eco-friendly practices and innovative designs, WAWWA provided a unique opportunity for budding designers to showcase their creativity.
The students were given a brief to design a range of clothing that aligns with WAWWA’s ethos of sustainability and ethical production. Throughout the project, they received invaluable feedback and critiques from WAWWA’s experienced designers, helping them refine their ideas and bring their visions to life.
This collaboration not only highlighted the importance of sustainable fashion but also empowered the next generation of designers to think critically about their impact on the environment. The project culminated in a showcase of the students’ work, celebrating their talent and the shared commitment to a greener future.

Collaboration with 'The GEORGE BEST LEGACY' Company
In 2023, fashion design students from the University of Salford embarked on an innovative project in collaboration with The GEORGE BEST LEGACY Company. This unique opportunity allowed students to design a capsule collection that embodies the authentic spirit of the Best brand.
The brief emphasized flexibility whilst providing critical input on design finalisation and ensuring the integrity of the brand.
Key aspects of the project include:
Capsule Range Design & Style Guide Direction: Aiming for Spring 2024 availability, with designs finalised by mid-October.
Sustainable Manufacturing: Targeting manufacturers in Europe or the Far East that meet high environmental and quality standards.
Future Planning: Immediate focus on AW24 collection post-Spring 2024 launch.
This collaboration not only highlights the importance of maintaining design integrity but also prepares students for real-world challenges in the fashion industry. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey!

H&M (Stockholm) Student Portfolio Viewing Visit
Designers from H&M visited University of Salford on our campus at our brand new building called the "New Adelphi" early in the academic year. The aim was to view work of our 2nd and 3rd year fashion design students in order to consider them for internships and future employment. Each student was interviewed with their portfolio's for up-to 30minutes. Two students have been offered paid graduate and student internships oppotunities, whilst three graduates are been considered for permanant employment.
The vist also included a talk by H&M on the brand, its ethos, history and a mention of current and future projects on sustainability. Suffice to say we all wanted to work in beautiful Stockholm for H&M after their inspiring talk.
